Cranio Sacral Therapy is an exceptionally gentle, non-invasive yet extremely powerful form of treatment that encourages the body’s ability to self-repair. It’s increasingly recognised for the depth of its influence, the comprehensive range of its therapeutic effects, and its ability to resolve issues that are not helped by other means; a process achieved with light touch – and no manipulation.
Using this process, we gently manipulate the bones in the skull, spine, and pelvis to release restrictions in the craniosacral system so that the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, the fluid around the brain and spinal cord, can be normalised and central nervous system functioning improved. By removing “blockages” from the normal flow, we enhance the body’s innate ability to heal.
This profound healing process can release deeply held patterns of disease – both physical and psychological – which accumulate throughout life as a result of injury and illness. These patterns are then held in the body tissues, leading to ill-health and dysfunction.
Very simply – the Cranio Sacral process is primarily concerned with enhancing the body’s underlying vitality – the Breath of Life – which pervades our whole selves, creating and maintaining health and wellbeing in all aspects of our lives. Secondly, it’s concerned with releasing restrictions that limit the free distribution of this vitality throughout the body; barriers that limit the healthy performance of the central nervous system.
It can be of benefit to most people and can help in many conditions – from minor aches and pains to severe and persistent chronic health problems, some of which include:
Our role is to help your body unlock its own innate ability to heal itself; we are the facilitators in your wellness process. For this reason we often incorporate Cranio into our treatments and in so doing start your process of recovery. We believe in curing the cause and not the complaint, so with Cranio Sacral therapy and all the other modalities, it’s important to combine them to get the best result.
