Title: Physiotherapist and Kinesiologist
Qualifications: B.Sc. PHYSIOTHERAPY – University of the Witwatersrand
In Practice: Since 1994
After suffering a back injury in schoolboy rugby, Adrian spent endless hours in physio rooms on the plinth as the patient. Despite intensive treatment his injury diminished his athletic ability and shattered his dream of a professional sporting career. This experience fuelled Adrian’s interest in healing and was ultimately responsible for his choice to study and go onto become a registered physiotherapist.
After qualifying Adrian became obsessed with what has become the motto of his practice, “Cure the cause, not the complaint”. This philosophy is rooted in a range of complimentary therapies, which Adrian went on to study, and today allow him to offer a more holistic approach to healing. The complementary medicine that Adrian integrates with his treatments, include Acupuncture, Kinesiology, Sacro-Occipital Therapy (SOT), Neuro-Organizational Technique (NOT) and Body Alignment.
The cumulative result of this ongoing study and his personal experiences led Adrian to develop his well-known START(TM) Technique which is aimed at achieving a structural, bio-chemical, psychological, energetic balance and overall optimal health.
The body’s nervous system responds to emotional, physical, nutritional and energetic stresses in a predictable manner. The START(TM) Technique helps the body release the bad habits and postures that are the result of this repeated and long-term stress. This approach to healing integrates the nervous system to return it to optimum function and facilitates the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
While not manipulating nervous system responses, Adrian enjoys running, mountain biking, fly-fishing and spending time with his wife and two sons.
