In Practice: Since 2016
Anel has always had had an absolute passion for both sports and health. At school she excelled at athletics, netball and dance. It was after a netball injury that she was diagnosed with a severe scoliosis. This resulted in years of intensive rehabilitation, Physiotherapy and even a visit to the theatre to no avail. This experience was the catalyst that inspired Anel to become a fitness instructor and to study Physiotherapy at the University of the Free State.
Her passion for sport led her to help with the German National Hockey side as well as at Comrades and the Iron Man while still a student. After qualifying she also helped at the Grant Khomo rugby tournament, the equivalent of the U/16 Craven Week. Shortly thereafter she moved to the West Coast where she worked in various out-patient departments and hospitals (ICU/High-care, General- and Pediatric Respiratory & Orthopaedics).
This experience combined with her recovery from personal injury helped Anel understand the need to look at each injury holistically in order to achieve a full recovery. This philosophy resonated with the motto, “ Cure the Cause, not the Complaint”. So after completing post-graduation courses in dry needling and pain relief Anel moved to Johannesburg to further expand on her knowledge and experience. She now supports her already vast experience in Physiotherapy, Dry-Needling and Pain Relief with Kinesiology, Plantar Posturology ( The Yellow Pages ) and the STARTÔ Technique.
After work Anel enjoys running, doing hair up-styles for brides, painting and spending time with friends and family.
